Finally!

I finally have a job. Not in the city I had hoped to go home to, but right here close to home. I am teaching AVID and CAHSEE prep. Not interesting but wholly scripted, at least until I can figure a few things out. Even though I am not completely prepared to teach these courses, I look at them as experience for my resume. I have to admit I am extremely excited to be a teacher. There is only one problem; I am a traveling teacher until November. I run from one class to another. I am going to spend this weekend trying to get organized, so I can transition from class to class.

Hi Norma, congratulations to you. It's so funny, after I had a job I got all kinds of offers. I'm saying where were you people when I was looking for you. Anyway I really enjoy my job. Maybe it's a bit different from a typical high school situation, but it's a good fit for me. I'm just so crazy busy! I'm sure you know the feeling. Well you go Norma, I'm glad you found a placement. Now we have to get used to this real job thing, at least I know I do ;-> Have fun Norma. I have some time off in Nov. Hope to get a chance to add to the never ending blog, miles o'smiles, Lisa

Hi Norma, Thanks for keeping in touch, I think you are the first person to make me smile all day, at least a smile all for myself. I do love my job, and I knew there would be those few students who would make life difficult. But you know what Norma, one of my students has taken to protecting me. It's so funny, he won't let anyone say anything to me that he feels is disrespectful. I don't know when it became an issue for him. I try to reassure him that I don't take anything personally, and that someone is always going to act foolish. Today he confronted the usual suspects about their behavior. It startled them a bit, and I think he just feels he should speak up for the students who are fed up with all of the antics. Maybe it will help the goof offs to see that they aren't so entertaining after all. Who knows, but it's kinda cool.
Well I'm glad things are going well for you. You deserve it. love ya girl, go get'em, Lisa
